RESIDENTS of Edey Village, Christ Church, called on church leaders to exorcise what they believe to be demonic forces that have invaded the small, close-knit neighbourhood.
For the past two weeks, residents have witnessed uncanny and unexplained events which led them to believe that evil forces had invaded the community.
It began two weeks ago when a 26-year-old woman went on the Internet and, according to sources, “saw what she was not supposed to see”.

Foreign tongue

While many could not describe what the woman actually saw, they said she immediately started speaking in a foreign tongue and became delirious.
Her family, well- respected members of the community, quickly summoned two church leaders and a group of “prayer warriors”to their home.
The church group spent two days praying around the young woman.
A member of the church group told the SATURDAY SUN that the voice coming from her was not her own, but that of an old man.
“We prayed for two days asking God to spread the blood of Jesus on the young woman and to strike out the demon. After much praying on the second day we heard her say ‘thank you Jesus’ and the demon came out of her body and she fell limp”.
However, another young woman, who lived next door, also fell victim to the demonic forces.
“She was sitting on a chair in her living room when all of a sudden she was lifted high into the air and thrown outside in her backyard. She fell hard on the ground and started speaking in a foreign tongue,” a source said.
The church group also prayed fervently for this second woman.
“By the time we were finished praying for her she had lost a considerable amount of weight and the demon left her body,” the source continued.
But sources say at least four more people in the district were affected and, as a result, a street prayer session was organised for Edey Village last Tuesday night.
The Saturday SUN visited the area and witnessed residents and members of the church walking through the small district singing and praying for almost three hours.

Wake-up call

Pastor Evelyn Nurse, of Bridgefield New Testament Church of God, who led the prayer session, told the residents that the events were a “wake-up call for Edey Village”.
To loud applause and shouts of “Amen”, she told those gathered: “Whatever happened in Edey Village happened for a purpose. We can’t question it. That was the wake-up call for this village. This was a quiet village, but it is not anymore. Edey Village will never be the same again. We pray and ask God for deliverance. God sends warnings and then the destruction. This is a wake-up call.”
It is understood that the street prayers will continue in the village.

It is wonderful that the residents of Edey Village are pulling together in prayer to help those afflicted by what is happening. However, it is important to consider other hypotheses in addition to demons.
Psychologically, an individual can experience an intense and sometimes odd/bizarre reaction to an extremely stressful event (e.g., seeing something that was particularly awful/shocking).  Occasionally, when those around such an individual becomes confused and afraid, a phenomenon known as Mass Hysteria can occur.  After the initial individual shows symptoms, others begin to manifest similar symptoms, typically nausea, muscle weakness, fits, headache or otherwise odd but similar behavior. It can be treated.
Another hypothesis is that these individuals could be experiencing symptoms of some shared biological insult such as a food-, air- or water-borne virus.
In any case, the sufferers should also seek out medical and psychological assessment. My prayers are with you, Edey Village.

I hope that it was not Marlena from “Day of our Lives” that she saw.  On a serious note, this stuff is real; some people tend not to believe it, but it happens…scary though.

Our grandmother always said that you exorcise demons in the sea. If you do it on land it will exit one and enter another. Thankfully it has not interfered with any children, who are so vulnerable and susceptible to anything. The lesson here is that dabbling in unknown territory can be dangerous, but I doubt this will stop others. The ouija board is another dangerous piece.

I like how these religious people have a way of frightening people into coming to church. “Signs of the time”, they say, “signs and wonders.” Here again is mention of the internet known to be good and equally destructive. Maybe it was the lady’s activity or maybe just the way this earth demon manifested itself - as the lady was using her computer. There is a graveyard nearby. Could it be some restless spirit or some idiot’s foolhardiness.

Remember a time when there was supposed to be a demon in the village pelting rocks.True or not I gave him a helping hand some nights to clear the fellows from the corner.

This is true. Similiar thing happened to me after visiting a so called “christian” website. My kids awoke at 2 am while I was watching a youtube video. They were inconsolable. my oldest had a dream about my other kids who were hysterical. He saw traps and arrows over there door. He asked me to pray and read him the bible. The spirit led me to Psalm 91 which in his version NIRV specifically talked about being protected from traps and arrows that fly by night.

I did an in depth study on arrows and in the original language it means “curses”. I also awoke from a terrible dream where something was holding me down and I could not breath. The spirit later revealed to me the truth about the ministry. About their bewitching, wolves in sheeps clothing, deceivers after their own bellies.

I had to repent and close that door but I am thankful the spirit was their to help me and show me the truth. I learned the hard way that as a christian we must guard our hearts diligent and test all things. We fight not against flesh and blood but against powers and principalities.

I want to encourage this community to seek the holy ways of God through Jesus so that they may remain free from such things. I work with deliverance and many fall prey to the demonic again due to ignorance and opening the doors again themselves!

Recently i have found that looking into the classifieds or in the paper you would see spiritual healers and all that .It is amazing that these people can work these “miracles ” and yet they cannot tell when the water is going off and warn us ,the world is in recession ,many still contract HIV/AIDS and all other sicknesses .When will we wake up .In our gullible and anxious states we fall victim to these offers .I say to our people stop dabbling in such things.
ALSO I say to our people to stop going to obeah men and women. Stop burning the candles and taking bush baths .
They are mere mortals like you and I .They are things that we as humans will never know or understand .Lean towards the word of God . However ask him to show you those who use his name saying they are Pastors and men and Women of God . They will be false prophets ,the word said that not me .

Demons? Last time I checked it was the 21 century not the middle ages. The [people] doing the street praying and some of the commentators should perhaps pay a visit to Black Rock.

Some young ladies hysteria lead to mass hysteria within that village.  The Almighty Creator created only good. There is no such things as demons, spirit or evil spirits. Evil is our thoughts and wrong doings we implement on ourselves and others through our actions daily.

well its a scientific fact that people who are prayed for recovered faster than those who weren’t, so there’s something being tapped into.anything’s possible though. demons or not there are things the lowly scientists cant explain even with all the sh*t they have.lol i’d like to see some pastor trying to exorcise one of the Goetia spirits or Pazuzu using jesus’s name.lol

It’s the same way how people mistake sleep paralysis for demonic attacks. People will always be more fascinated with mysticism simply because it is more intriguing than fact. Religion is a dying breed though. Just as how yesterday’s religions are today’s mythologies, today’s religion will be tomorrow’s mythology. It’s only a matter of time.

With two megga churches under construction a few hundreds yards away from this village, now is the time to elicit supporters.

Pray to your spagetti monster in the sky.  I’m sure he’ll save you.

Why is it that only people who believe in religon are bothered by demons?
