Dining treat for homeless

SIXTY OF BARBADOS’ homeless people savoured the luxury of fine dining Friday evening with a three-course meal served under tastefully set out tents in Independence Square.
The sit-down meal saw the diners feasting on a menu that included sweet potato rosettes, confetti rice, grilled dolphin and roasted chicken, prepared by executive chef for the Sugar Cane Club and Almond Beach hotels David Yarde.
The event was Yarde’s brainchild and he managed to garner support from the two hotels in the MW Suns Group as well as other businesses such as Simplex Trading, Hotel Foods, Carla’s Vegetables, Tropic Ice and S & R Rentals.
Twenty-five volunteers waited the tables and happily served the less fortunate who enjoyed the special meal. (GC)
