THE DEMOCRATIC Labour Party’s (DLP) membership hasn’t taken a battering despite the tough economic measures Government has been forced to institute.
In the last year, 125 people joined the party and there were only two letters of resignation, according to outgoing general secretary Donville Inniss.
He made the comments yesterday at a media briefing on the upcoming 59th annual conference shared with conference chair Verla De Peiza, at the party’s Belleville, St Michael headquarters.
The conference runs from Friday evening through Sunday, under the theme Achieving Global Competitiveness. Highlights will include Prime Minister Freundel Stuart’s address on Sunday morning, presentation of reports by Minister of Education Ronald Jones and Minister of the Environment Dr Denis Lowe on Saturday, and the election of officers.
