Deandra Dottin still has the appetite for big scores.
The swashbuckling Barbadian all-rounder who also holds the world record for the fastest century by a male or female cricketer, showed just how much yesterday, taking apart St Lucia’s bowling in the West Indies’ women’s limited overs cricket tournament.
Playing at the mecca of cricket, Kensington Oval, Dottin scored a massive 139, as Barbados piled up a whopping 325, en route to a comfortable 267-run victory to maintain their unbeaten record in the competition.
Barbados’ bowlers also impressed yesterday, as Shaquana Quintyne and Kelia Elliot took four and three wickets respectively, in routing their opponents for just 58. The win vaulted Barbados into today’s semi-finals against arch-rivals Jamaica at the same venue.
Here, Dottin driving beautifully through the onside on her way to yesterday’s impressive ton. (BA)
