Different year, same teams.

Champions MIX 96.9 FM Dover Juniors and Fusionz Boutique Passage United are set for another showdown in the final of the fifth annual Inspire Sports/National Sports Council Under-13 Cricket Competition.

The grand final is carded for next Monday at Dayrells Road.

In the semi-finals yesterday, Dover Juniors comfortably defeated St Philip Juniors by 47 runs and three-time winners Passage United had an emphatic ten-wicket victory over Ellerton Juniors.

At Passage Road, stroked-filled batting by Ajani Waterman, who made 63 not out, and Kilano Brathwaite, with an unbeaten 59, made light work of the target of 135.

Waterman formalized the victory with a single to mid-wicket off the first ball of the 21st over as Passage United won with 14.5 overs left.

Waterman faced 73 balls, striking 11 fours and a six, while Brathwaite who was first to fifty, hit seven fours in his run-a-ball knock.

Earlier, opting to bat, Ellerton Juniors were limited to 134 for nine from their 35 overs. Lemar Springer’s 39-ball knock of 44, contained five fours and two sixes. Joshua Walcott made 29 including four fours.

At Dover, all-rounder Treasure Griffith threatened to spoil Dover Juniors’ party before he was bowled by Najee Bishop in the 27th over for a well-played attacking 67. It came off 55 balls and was spiced with seven fours and a six over mid-wicket.

St Philip Juniors lost their last five wickets for 15 runs in 3.3 overs and were dismissed for 147, chasing 195.
