SECURITY AT SHIPPING POINTS around the island is being tightened in anticipation of attempts to smuggle drugs and other illegal items around this time of the year.
Head of the Drug Squad, Superintendent Grafton Phillips, told the DAILY NATION that police were also on high alert since people usually tried to import illegal substances during the Crop Over festivities.
