Duguid issues apology

Duguid issues apology Barbados Labour Party Member of Parliament (MP), William Duguid (FP)

Fri, November 23, 2012 - 12:45 PM

BARBADOS LABOUR PARTY Member of Parliament (MP), William Duguid, today said sorry to Barbadians for his shocking outburst in the House of Assembly last Tuesday.

Admitting he had fallen “far short” for the traditions and standards of Barbados’ 300-year-old Parliament, Duguid told a media conference at the Opposition Barbados Labour Party (BLP) Office this morning that his outburst, which has been widely publicized on the Internet via Youtube and Facebook, was provoked by a Democratic Labour Party MP’s insult of his family members.

“I now humbly apologize to my constituents and to the wider Barbadian public. The outburst was the result of the most grievous of provocations, which came from the mouth of a DLP parliamentarian. It would be improper of me to repeat the insulting words used, but I will say that they constituted the gravest possible insult to my wife and to my children,” he stated. (RJ)

Don't wonder that the Bajan young people have little respect for anything or anyone. Look at the ones supposedly setting the example. Both of them need a stiff censure.

Is the other person involved in this "fracas" not going to apologize also?
Why is every one only seeing one side of the picture?
Both persons should apologize for their actions , and the other person should not think that apologizing is above him!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Duguid's words have proven Rihanna's statement true; that a certain word (edited) is used frequently by many in all strata of society...lol.

A higher economic strata does not conceal the fact that you have no class; it comes out when you speak and what you chose to speak about. Next general elections will not be about choosing the best party but about a default party being chosen to replace the incompetent DLP. The BLP lacks cohesion and has its fair share of classless and otherwise immoral members.

His outburst was absolutely disgusting, no doubt about that and it was right that he issued an apology. Having said that, I am not that blinkered or partisan to question whether his rant was a result of a provocation/insult. Such an outburst without a just cause? Just thinking.

As it stands, the provacator is all about "he say she say"not one soul has stepped foward to say who or what was said to Mr Duguid, that's just another excuse to extract sympathy from the public... a well known tactic of the BLP. if there was some kinda provacation, at least the man was smart enough to turn of his microphone.next time u fell like cussing somboddi mudda, billy dugoat "tun off de mic"

If Wayne Husbands would listen to the broadcast on You tube then he would not have to speculate about "he say or she say ", he would hear for himself what was said.
