There are a lot of opportunities to make money through encouraging foreign students to study in Barbados.
This was among the points made today during a seminar on “Education As Big Business” organised by the Barbados Coalition of Service Industries.
Sheena Alleyne of The Student Centre, a private student recruitment agency, said even a small group of students could end up pumping millions of dollars into the economy over a few years because of tuition fees, accommodation and other expenses.
There were opportunities for ground and air transport, health care, banking, telecommunications, insurance, entertainment and other services to make money, she said.
“We’re good at educating people,” she said. “Let’s sell it.” (TY)
