Former leader of the Opposition Mia Mottley on Monday asked for a private meeting with her successor, Owen Arthur, to discuss the nomination of candidates for the next general election.
However, the former Prime Minister shot down the request.
The Barbados Labour Party’s general secretary George Griffith, former minister Lynette Eastmond and former Member of Parliament Wendell Callender were among online readers commenting on the issue.
Some readers said Arthur should be amenable to a meeting with Mottley, while others believe Mottley should address any concerns she has in the party’s parliamentary meetings.
