Fathers turn out in numbers

AT LEAST 100 FATHERS went back to primary school yesterday – but without their lunch boxes, pencils and erasers.
More would have loved to turn up at Milton Lynch Primary but just could not get the time off from work.
The men were responding to the institution’s Bring Your Father to School Day, in the process indicating a heavy involvement in their children’s lives.
The day was one highlight of a week of activities planned by the all-boys school.
“About 100 fathers turned up,” organizer Carlson Pascal said. “They were more than we expected. Some fathers could not get away from work. And not all children have a father figure. For me, the day was a resounding success.” (CA)
