MORE HOMELESS and vagrant individuals now stand to benefit from a popular feeding programme, thanks to a recent financial contribution by telecommunications company Digicel.

Digicel donated $12 000 to the Living Water Community’s feeding programme which is conducted each Tuesday from Heroes Square in The City, where approximately 150 meals are distributed to homeless and less fortunate individuals who gather weekly. The contribution is intended to aid with the monthly cost of the programme and assist the Community with expanding its reach.

Chief executive officer of Digicel (Barbados) Limited Mark Linehan commended the Living Water Community for its commitment to assisting the less fortunate across Barbados:

“The Living Water Community does great work, not just with this feeding programme but with other programmes that support the marginalized in our society. They have come to the rescue and aid of persons in need on many occasions and our contribution to this worthy cause will help Living Water continue with their great work.”

Accepting the donation on behalf of the Living Water Community was member Ian Camacho, who thanked Digicel for its contribution.

“Like Digicel, we are in the business of communication. With their generous support, we will be better able to say to those on the fringes of society, ‘others are concerned about your situation and want to help you,’” he said. (PR)
