BARBADIAN HIGH ACHIEVERS need to be celebrated for the world to see.

That call came this morning from tourism consultant Hugh Foster, who was speaking at the inaugural Centennial Awards.

Foster said a montage of late super centenarian James Sisnett and all the centenarians as well as portraits of Rihanna, Obadele Thompson, Shane Brathwaite and other sporting heroes should have pride of place at the country’s ports of entry where they can be seen by all who pass through.

This morning at the George Lamming Primary School, Elise Weekes, mother of entertainer Desmond Weekes, was inducted into the Centennial Hall of Fame. (YB)
