Four lose all in house fire
Tue, February 12, 2013 - 12:05 AM
A family of four is lamenting the loss of their home and all their possessions to fire.
On Sunday night, Ramnarmace Ramassar watched as his home in Fairy Valley, Christ Church, burned to the ground. A Guyanese national by birth, he has spent the last 16 years in Barbados, and the last four of those building his home.
He lived with his wife Phulmatie Mitra and two children, Ritesh Ramassar and Pooram Khailoo. He said the house was not insured.
Two other houses were slightly damaged.
Both candidates for the area, Dr Denis Lowe of the Democratic Labour Party and Wilfred Abrahams of the Barbados Labour Party, were on the scene offering assistance. (CA)

This is a speedy response from the political candidates. Is it my imagination or does it seem that things happens much faster just before elections?
It must be pointed out however that Dr Lowe's DLP government has not been very warm towards Guyanese immigrants last five years.

Comment LinkNow you have the right to support any party of your choosing, Mr. Harper. No right thinking person would begrudge your doing so. But to seize on a family's plight to make the PIP look bad is reprehensible, in my view. You need to cease and desist this practice of yours if you desire to write in a "fair and balanced" manner, befitting an otherwise eminent scribe.
