Funeral service for Straughn on Monday

Former parliamentarian Glenroy Straughn will be laid to rest on Monday, April 22.
The funeral for the 86-year-old social activist and Pan Africanist will take place at St Michael’s Cathedral with tributes beginning at 1:15 p.m. and the service at 2 p.m. 
Straughn will be interred at Westbury Cemetery.
Straughn, who sat in Parliament from 1958 to 1961 as the Barbados Labour Party’s representative for St Joseph, was a former teacher, chairman of the Transport Board and a member of the Bussa Foundation, the National Council on Substance Abuse and the Barbados Road Safety Council. (AC)
