Gold isn’t only one of our most precious resources.

At Eden Lodge Primary it’s also the colour of champions.

That’s because for the fifth straight year, Gold house reigned supreme during the school’s annual sports day which was held at the National Stadium yesterday.

Led by Under-11 athlete Hakeem Richards, who copped the Victor Ludorum title, Gold decimated the rest of the field, amassing 216 points. Orange was a long way behind in second position on 137 points, followed by Red and Green with 127 and 108 points respectively.

Such was Gold’s dominance that they captured all except one of the divisional titles, with victrix ludorum and Under-13 Girls’ champion Aliyah Griffith of Red house being the lone athlete to prevent a clean sweep.

And they couldn’t have picked a better way to bring the curtain down on the day’s activities, with Jadarrol Toppin running a sensational anchor leg in the day’s last race, the open boys’ relay medley, copping gold and stamping Gold’s authority on the day’s proceedings.
