Hands tied by foolish past
Thu, January 26, 2012 - 12:01 AM
Dear Christine,
I have three children and they all have different fathers. You would have to be in my position to understand how this can happen.
When a woman has a young infant and the father is gone and there is no one to hand her a copper, she falls easily into the hands of another man, who, in the first instance, offers her all she wants.
This happened twice to me, simply because I could not believe it could happen more than once. What a fool I’ve been!
Well, after those three experiences, I decided to have my tubes tied. Now, two years later, I am getting married at last to a very nice man, who is ten years older than I am and very settled in his ways.
We are both young (I am 24), and we would like to have a child together. But when I went to the surgeon, he said I was irresponsible.
When I told our family doctor, he was surprised and promised to get someone else to see me.
Unfortunately, he has been called away on business. Can you suggest someone I can go to?

Dear ?,
I am not going to judge you, and no one has the right to do so. Sometimes in life we walk various roads until we get on the right one.
I am glad that your story has a happy ending and that you’re settling down with someone who loves you.
I am not in a position to give you the name of any doctor who can reverse your “tubal ligation”, and I would suggest that you wait until the doctor’s return.
I wish you long life and much happiness as your life seemingly takes a turn for the better.
