Harvest Day at St James
Sun, February 05, 2012 - 8:00 AM
THE GROUNDS of St James Parish Church were overflowing yesterday with locals and visitors attending the church’s 24th annual Harvest Day.
Organizer Janet Gooding said the harvest had grown over the years, and continued to attract large crowds, including visitors who planned their vacation around the show that takes place on the first Saturday of February.
The event is used to raise money for four outreach programmes that assist members of the church and the community. They include the Heed The Need, which supplies 34 families with food each month, and the Care And Share, which caters to house repairs.
The Royal Barbados Police Force Band entertained patrons who expressed excitement over the several floral arrangements. (LK)
