Hatchet bees CABINET MINISTER DENIS KELLMAN (FP)

CABINET MINISTER DENIS KELLMAN has charged that there are supporters of the Opposition Barbados Labour Party (BLP) employed in “certain agencies” who are bent on undermining and frustrating the Government.

Kellman made the accusation while delivering the feature address at the weekly lunchtime lecture of the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) at George Street, Belleville, yesterday.

“I am aware that there are people within the BLP working in certain agencies that are doing everything to frustrate this Government. We make Cabinet decisions and they feel they can do things to frustrate those decisions.

“Even though they are frustrating us, we are still pushing full steam ahead to ensure that we create a climate in this country that unlike others in the world, [we] feel comfortable with,” he said.

Here Denis Kellman goes again with his paranoia and propaganda: “I am aware that there are people...working in certain agencies that are doing everything to frustrate this Government. We make Cabinet decisions and they feel they can do things to frustrate those decisions."

Could Kellman be referring to the Bagatelle Metal Dump where his Cabinet gave approval for B's Recycling to commence operations without first obtaining the necessary permissions from the Town Planning and Environmental Protection Departments?

The Chief Town Planner rightly refused to rubber stamp Cabinet's decision, by enforcing the Town Planning Act, and brought operations at the Dump to an abrupt halt. He stopped it, not because he wanted to "frustrate" the process, but because Cabinet circumvented the Act that requires an environmental impact study for such projects.

What is really frustrating is that the same hard-working and professional government employees Kellman accuse of not supporting Cabinet's sometimes illegal decisions, have not had a salary increase in almost five years, and are dying under the weight of out-of-control inflation and cost of living.

This revelation does not surprise me at all.
Actually, it's a great strategy for undermining a Government
-and maybe when the Bees get back in (thirstily)
maybe any DEMS-type who work in various agencies
might then return the favour??
Wouldn't that be fun?
