Legally blind Leroy Smith has found out that there are still honest and honourable people in Barbados.

Last Thursday, Smith lost an envelope with bills and money on his way to, or from, his eye clinic on St Michael’s Row. Upon realizing he had lost the money and bills the same day, Smith resigned himself to the loss.

The following day when he went to pay the bills, he discovered that they had been paid. He was left wondering, how and by whom.

Then he discovered they had been paid by postman Tyrone Evelyn, of St Michael, after an envelope was forced into his hand by an unknown individual whilst he was running an errand in Taylor’s Cycling Centre, which is also located on St Michael’s Row.

Since I cannot read the entire story online, I will only say that this looks like a very happy ending for all concerned. There are still honest people in the world.

How refreshing! Now that's the Barbados I grow up Knowing.
When you hear stories like this it just Erases all the ugliness and gives people a glimmer of hope. One of the feel good stories of the year Especially in this harsh economic climate. How refreshing I'm all smiles. Well done!

This is the Barbados we all know that must never be allowed to die, with the changing times. Mr. Evelyn, does not want glory for his honesty. Further more, is the person who found it and gave it to the postman. This is the Barbdos we used to know. The WOW factor here, is that we all were brought up to be honest and caring citizens.
Thought our children are today being influence by an orgy of decadence, Bajans are still good moral people. Which brings me to Ms. Myrie case. I am happy that it has been taken up by the Caribbean Court, for it not only shows the world that Barbados is a place where one can get fair justice; but it also speak volumes to those members of the Caricom Community who are still sitting on the fence about our regional judicial capability.
Let us after celebrating Heroes day, multiply mr. Evelyn's and the unknown person who gave the envelope to him, a thousand times among us.

I found 2500.00 in a envelope and the reason I return it? It had a picture ID of the person in it. I was pissed because I couldn't keep it. Plus I am a Barbadian and were ever I go I always maintain honesty.

GOD IS STILL ON HIS THRONE and I am convinced that He looks out for the blind, handicapped, and/or underprivileged. God let that enveloped with the money and bills fall into the right hands. Firstly, the person who handed it to the postman, and then the postman himself. All I could say is... God bless you Mr. Evelyn, and I know that there are still many others like yourself in this world that are used by God as 'instruments' of His peace.
