HUNDREDS THRONGED the grounds of Ilaro Court Thursday night for the Prime Minister’s gala reception hosted every year at the culmination of the Crop Over Festival.

Barbadians from the diaspora, here for the Second Barbados Network Consultation, diplomats, parliamentarians, business people and a host of other guests were treated to a “last lap” with performances by the 2012 Calypso Monarch Red Plastic Bag, triple-crown winner Mikey, John King and Junior Monarchs Jazz Jazz-Z Gittens and Aisha Mandisa Butcher.

Intermittent showers did not interrupt the party. The crowd surged forward to dance under the raindrops. (GC)
