The penultimate day of the Barbados Turf Club’s second racing season ushers in the Sir David Seale 50th Year in Horseracing raceday which comes off tomorrow at the Garrison Savannah beginning at 1:45 p.m.

This eight-race card, which has attracted 94 horses, will see races ranging from 1 000 to 1 800 metres, of which six races will carry the names of some of the more popular horses which have worn Sir David’s silks.

The day’s feature and supporting feature races will run back to back with the supporting race running off first, where 12 two-year-old babies will contest the Caribbean Horse Kindergarten Stakes and Trophy Condition Race over 1 100 metres for West Indian-bred two-year olds.

The main event is race five, the 1 800 metres Golden Anniversary Trophy Handicap for three-year and older horses rated 140-122 and also open to horses rated 121 and below.

One race that will command plenty interest is race two the Kingly Street Handicap over 1 000 metres, here Shaun Meil and Joanne Parravicino’s filly Seattle Sunshine will shoulder the top billing of 130 pounds. With her form being dreadful, punters should not hesitate to look around for a winner.

A.P. Vincero, a winner two starts back, is in next at the weight of 123 pounds, while the speedy Run Alke Run will look for the victory with 121 pounds.  Although this is a small field of seven, the remaining four horses all have good form and are in with excellent chances of securing the victory.

The Bentom Handicap over 1 800 metres is the ideal spot where Sir David’s colours are expected to feature in the final outcome. Reward Me in the form of his life looks to secure another victory with the weight of 119 pounds. Sarava Point who suffered at the hands of Reward Me two starts back will now meet him at level weight.

However, the top impost in this event for three-year-olds and older horses rated 85-67 and also open to horses rated 66 and below goes to Janes Girls’ Cinnamon Jane, packing 128 pounds, who is showing a return to something of her best.

This field is complemented by the presence of the Blue Diamond trio of Captain Sully, High Tide and Cabin Boy, all of whom have been knocking on the doors on the winner’s enclosure. Azkaban took care of business last effort and will be looking for a repeat here.

The Sandford Prince Handicap over 1 570 metres is the place where four of this year’s  Derby failures will seek revenge. they are John Vere 113, Jasmine 112, Lavanni 119 and Corvette 116 pounds.

Topping the weight scale in this race for three years and older horses rated 65-47 and also open to horses rated 46 and below goes to Blue Diamond Racing-owned Island Memories at 128 pounds. Behind him are Zouk’s Girl and Dunwiddat both handicapped at 127 pounds and Flying South who is being asked to take 126 pounds.
