Barbados will have to find a better way to finance public health care to reduce the burden it places on Government.

Acting Minister of Health Donville Inniss made this clear today while addressing the second health care financing conference organised by the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

Inniss said the current model was unsustainable and there was a risk of it collapsing unless it was reformed.

He told the meeting the new financing model needed not be burdensome to anyone, as it would entail a reduction in inefficiencies in the system and greater involvement of the private sector. (TY)
