SEVEN CALYPSO MONARCHS, including three juniors, are among 19 stars chosen for next Friday’s semi-finals of the MQI/Banks/LIME Pic-O-De-Crop at the gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex.

And once again Cave Shepherd All Stars has taken a major chunk of the places with seven picks in the form of Chrystal, Smokey, Colin Spencer, Troy, De Announcer, Adrian Clarke and Ian Webster, who is back in competition after a nine-year break.

A jubilant All Stars manager Eleanor Rice was shaking in the wake of the announcement, which came from acting corporate communications specialist at the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) Andre Hoyte just after midnight.

A tie for the 18th spot resulted in 19 going forward. There is no reserve.

O what an awful collage of pictures. The Nation really needs to update its stock of photos. With reference to the selection, Popsicle will definitely have a run for his money and possibly a meltdown. The chances of him being licked are quite high. Sir Ruel is a youngster with a remarkable voice and vocal range so I'm looking for great things from him.
