The ultimate aim is to win, but the duelling junior chefs from across the Caribbean will all come away as winners.
Seven teams, including one from last year’s champion island St Lucia, were involved in intense competition over the last three days at the Dining Club, Newton, Christ Church.
The St Lucian team of Yohance Cazabon and Jana James was not particularly happy coming out of the National Dish round on Friday, but were hoping to redeem themselves in the other rounds and do well enough to retain the title.
Team Barbados finished second last year and Kemar Husbands and Janeé Denny are hoping to better that performance and bring home the gold with the Bajan Twist which had breadfruit, pork and flying fish as the main ingredients.
“We’re hoping to top it off this year. But if we don’t win, we will still be pleased with what we did,” Denny said. (YB)
