A summons was issued yesterday for Acting Commissioner of Police Tyrone Griffith.

It did not arise out of a personal matter, but after a Bridgetown magistrate felt it was unjust for a complainant to be forced to wait seven years for a case in which she is the alleged victim, to start.

To date, police have not produced a file in the matter and the case could end up being dismissed for lack of prosecution.

Nearly three months ago when the case came up, no file was available,  and Magistrate Douglas Frederick advised the complainant to take the matter up with the Acting Commissioner.

The woman has attended court on every occasion.

The case involves Carlos Antonio Bovell, 25, of St Michael, who had pleaded not guilty to inciting Rohan Anderson Alleyne to commit an act of serious indecency against a woman on August 9, 2007.
