SOME BARBADIANS are engaging in the unsavoury practice of stealing lights and plants from roundabouts.
And yesterday, Minister of Culture Stephen Lashley warned them to stop this because if caught, they would feel the full weight of the law.
He expressed his concern as he spoke at a media briefing for Saturday’s Sagicor Life Inc Lighting Ceremony at Sagicor’s office in Wildey, St Michael.
“We are celebrating an important occasion and we are asking corporate Barbados to use their much-earned dollars, but then we have some persons who are involved in very dubious activity of basically denigrating this important act of national symbolism. I would really like to call on those people who are in the habit of doing it to desist from it,” he said.
