HUNDREDS OF BARBADIANS turned out today to say farewell to agriculturalist, diplomat and former senator Keith Laurie.

The occasion was a memorial Mass held at St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cathedral, which was packed with people from all walks of life.

Laurie succumbed to pancreatic cancer on October 1.

Delivering the sermon Bishop Anthony Dickson told mourners that individual acts of charity were important but much more was needed to significantly improve conditions in Barbados.

He said every organisation needed to pull itself up by its boot straps for this task. (TY)
