Lavish send-off

Barbadian international pop star Rihanna deflected the celebrity spotlight on her beloved grandmother Clara Brathwaite this week with lavish funeral arrangements reserved for the rich and famous.

Only the best was good enough for “grangran Dolly” whom Rihanna idolized.

The prestigious Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home, a century-old Manhattan funeral establishment which handled funerals for top celebrities like silent screen legend Rudolph Valentino, John Lennon of the Beatles, singer Judy Garland, Jacqueline Kennedy and in more recent times crooner Luther Vandross, was chosen to do the final honours for Brathwaite.

Downes and Wilson Funeral Home were employed for the Barbados funeral service and a source revealed Rihanna’s business manager Desire Perez was integrally involved in making these arrangements along with Brathwaite’s family.
