Solving the Alexandra School 20-day deadlock was child’s play compared with problems facing LIAT.
But Prime Minister Freundel Stuart says he is going to attack the issues facing the regional airline on Monday when the leaders of the three major shareholder governments as well as representatives from 11 trade unions from across the Caribbean converge at Hilton Barbados.
Stuart confessed yesterday, however, that any attempts to deal with LIAT, into which Barbadians taxpayers have pumped hundreds of millions of dollars over the years, must now involve new player REDjet.
“It is impossible to discuss LIAT without discussing REDjet. So you can be assured that a lot of issues will be put on the table,” the Prime Minister revealed during the first monthly business meeting this year of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce & Industry. (GE)
