I would really like the authorities to legalize Casino facilities gambling and stop tinkering with this lotto rubbish. Our tourism product would develop by leaps and bounds. This petty Lotto only enriching a few while the bedrock of our economy Tourism going down the tubes;needing an urgent injection of capital and infrastructure.Casino gambling should be factor into our tourism by now.To all those oppose that say it will bring crime and violence my question is who let the drugs in our island?Drugs are readily available on every Block in Barbados.I don’t remember any one being given the legal right to buy, sell and use drugs across the island. How did drugs get so pervasive in our society?
The fall out from our Island’s illegal leisure drug use is immense. The present negative fallout from our limited gambling too is real and dark.More gambling in the form of Casinos will mean more negative fall out thanks to enhancing this vice. However overall our society has not imploded from the Island’s wholesale embrace of leisure drugs. So too Casino gambling will not explode and mushroom in a dark cloud that will see us in eternal darkness.
