Major ganja eradication in Guyana

On Tuesday, ranks of the Police Narcotics Branch conducted a drug eradication exercise at Hauraruni, Upper Demerara River.

Police say that ten fields totalling about fifteen acres in size were found with approximately 17 000 Cannabis Sativa (Marijuana) plants ranging from one to eight feet in height under cultivation.

They were also 25 nurseries with about 9 000 seedlings, and seven camps. They were destroyed.

No arrests have been made. (Stabroek News)
