Man charged with firearm offences

Winston McDonald Walton, age 38 of #9 Bonaire Lane, Cave Hill, St. Michael was arrested and charged for the following offences: possession of a .9mm firearm without a licence; possession of 19 rounds ammunition without a permit and possession of cannabis (small quantity). 
On Wednesday, December 26, 2012, Police Officers attached to the District A Police Station were on routine duty when enquires led them to Walton’s residence.  On interviewing him, he ran causing police to give chase which ended at Montgomery Pasture, Cave Hill, St. Michael.  He was taken into custody by the valiant efforts of those officers, and the firearm, ammunition and drugs seized. 
Walton is expected to appear at the District A Magistrate Court today.
