I doan know a lot about the lot o’ technology of how duh does come up wid the fattest or the thinnest people, but I gine have tuh tell ya, I think duh real wrong bout this thing dat Bajan women is the fattest women in the world.
I read the article in the NATION newspaper the other day; I think it was August 10, and it was written by Tony Best. It had a big able headline, Bajan Women The Fattest.
The article said dat Barbados placed top on the global list of the ten countries with the largest share of overweight women in their respective populations.
You could imagine dat dem, the Economist Pocket World of Figures 2014, whoevah duh is, could say dat Bajan women is the fattest women in the world? Dem serious? I ain’t care how duh get it work out or who work it out fuh dat matter, I doan think so at all; something real wrong wid dah survey. In all my days pon this earth, I have never seen or heard of any Bajan woman weighing more than three hundred and fifty pounds or moreso, looking like duh cahn walk under the pressure o’ the weight. So I ain’t know how dem could come up wid something like dat.
You could imagine dat dem put the United States of America fourth? Wha’ dem is some o’ the biggest, tallest and fattest people in the world.
Look, if you want tuh see real big, fat people, be in the United States in the summer when all sorts o’ people does be out in the yards or patios trying tuh keep cool, taking in some sun or barbequeing. Dat is when you does see real fat people.
You want tuh see more fat people? Go in the supermarkets or in the malls and you would find ya’self constantly staring at some o’ the biggest people pon the planet.
Ya’all evah watch dat American weight loss programme The Biggest Loser? Well I gine tell ya something, the men does look like duh could wear a double D cup bra. When you see dem take off duh shirts tuh weigh in, the fat does be hanging all bout the place and most o’ dem does be way ovah three hundred pounds. The women, on the other hand, does wear a sports bra top and does be real big and fat and you telling me dat Bajan women is the fattest women in the world?
I like tuh watch the Food Network channel and leh me tell you something, if you want tuh see people eat, check out Diners, Drive-ins and Dives wid Guy Fieri. Talk bout people eating? Dem people does be always eating. I does have tuh ask myself if dem doan evah stop.
The thing is, he does be travelling all ovah the states going in tuh these different eating place dat does be always full o’ people wolfing down the food and talking bout how good it is.
One time there was this man in the States who was ovah nine hundred pounds. As a matter o’ fact, there was also a woman who was featured and after dat, many many more and dem talking bout we Bajans being the fattest women in the world? Dem ain’t even say in the Caribbean but in the world? Dah ain’t right!
So because we does feature big girls in a show called the Big And Beautiful show dah means dat we is the fattest in the world?
Wha’ bout Bahamas, dem got some big able strapping women and I ain’t see dem even mentioned. I doan know what is the next negative thing duh gine say bout Barbados. If um ain’t one thing, it is the next, but ya know something? We like weself.
