The East Caribbean Conference of SDA Youth Department held a concert recently at Jubilee Gardens in Bridgetown with the theme Youth Contact, Youth Impact.
Its aim was to reach the youth of Barbados though various mediums such as sports, community work, music and lifestyle: The concert was a launch pad for the annual Youth Mega-Fest programme that begins at the end of this month.
The night featured some of the most talented music ministers in the SDA church across Barbados, one of which was the popular country and western group Advent Four who are always on the ball in their singing as they are always confident and well-prepared. Last Saturday night was no exception.
There is a variety of talent within the church, as was demonstrated by the brother and sister team of Keliah Chase on the steel pan and Kemar Chase on the keyboard who did a Total Praise melody.
Singing a Sandi Patti song takes a talented and dedicated singer and Shernise Small did well as she did Seeing Him As He Is, receiving applause for her effort. Gary Goodridge on the sax did Because He Lives, Shannon Carrington chose Lord You’re Holy and the dynamic Cindy Blades rendered Break Every Chain.
Adding variety to the evening was the mime group Mission Prayz. (RL)
