WHILE THOUSANDS JAMMED yesterday from the National Stadium to Spring Garden with perhaps an even greater number looking on, just over 100 people gathered at King George V Memorial Park in St Philip with equally as much focus on their purpose.
It was the annual gathering of God’s Men from the men’s ministry of the People’s Cathedral which has become a regular event on Kadooment Day. There was one major change this year – it was not a men-only affair – and yes, the venue also changed from the People’s Cathedral where it had been held for the previous 12 years.
Of course there were prayers and shouts of “Thank you Jesus”, along with applause of approval following interesting remarks, but it was also a time for fellowship and more importantly a people-to-people interaction on everyday issues.
Mike Goddard, one of the main organisers, said the focus this year was on the family, addressing “all the challenges the family faces daily”.
