WEDDINGS, FAST CARS, a blend of classical and popular music and some of the leading orchestras are among the servings planned as Barbados continues to focus on diversifying its tourism product.

Barbados will be hosting one of the biggest events in the world of motorsports – the Race of Champions – at the Bushy Park Circuit, on December 13 and 14.

A Classical/Pops Festival – offering a blend of music and featuring as many as 70 orchestra members – will be held December 11 to 14.

The two events were announced yesterday when the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) held a meeting at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre for tour operators from across the globe.

The meeting also heard, from the acting president and CEO of the BTMI Petra Roach, that Barbados was going after a larger slice of the international weddings market, offering incentives for holding the ceremony in the island.
