Smith told the MIDWEEK NATION that with the deadline for Government to respond to the union’s request for a restart in wage negotiations having passed yesterday, the island’s largest public sector union has signalled that some form of action was on the cards.

“We gave Government until the end of the month and we have not received any response from them. During a meeting of the National Council we were given the go-ahead to take whatever action is necessary to bring them [Government] back to the table,” Smith said. (RB)
