RIA BLACKMAN is a former student of Lester Vaughan School and is currently enrolled at the Barbados O Level Institute, preparing to sit CXC exams in June in biology and principles of business.
The shy woman with the husky voice hopes to study nursing at the Barbados Community College in September because, she says, “I really want to help take care of people. I have always wanted to help and I hate to see people suffering; it is important to me to give back to the community.”
Currently, Ria, 19, works as a member of wait staff in a local restaurant, but she has much bigger dreams and has already put herself on the path to achieving them.
