A Bajan attorney in New York, Colvin C. Goddard, has been suspended from practising law by the New York State Supreme Court.
The state sourt’s appellate division, Second Judicial Department, has suspended Goddard with immediate effect and ordered him to return a pass which allowed him to enter court buildings to practise.
The court cited professional misconduct, largely based on Goddard’s “failure to cooperate” with an investigation by the Grievance Panel that probes allegations lodged against attorneys by their clients and others.
Goddard, also an Anglican and Episcopal priest in both Barbados and New York, studied law in New York and was admitted to the state’s Bar on March 7, 2001.
He has practised law in Brooklyn ever since, but is now in Barbados.
