Ten Barbadians – seven women and three men – are on the breadline after the abrupt closure of one of this island’s popular ice cream parlours, the Haagen-Dazs Cafe in Hastings, Christ Church, on Monday.
The closure has not been without controversy.
Having been given late notification of the cafe’s closure, the staff were met with two different notices within a 24-hour stretch on the front door of the business located in Lanterns Mall.
The first notification indicated that the cafe would be closed while yesterday staffers were net with a notice stating that the company was in the process of reorganising its business to serve its customers.
