ACTION AT THE Ryan Brathwaite Track got off to a blazing start yesterday – by none other than the man himself.

Accustomed to being in the blocks, the former World champion hurdler took up a position behind the gun instead, having officially started the meet with Deacons Primary and Cuthbert Moore at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex that bears his name on the track.

It was the first official meet at the venue and these girls (inset) were only too eager to get off to a flying start after reacting to the gun in this 50 metres sprint. (Picture by Kenmore Bynoe.)
