Drivers will be allowed multiple sessions at the Bushy Park Circuit Incorporated’s Track Day tomorrow.
But the event, which will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., is open to drivers holding valid competition licenses.
It will be run from staggered starts from the pit exit and a maximum of ten cars will be allowed on the track per session.
The organisers said sessions will be over ten minutes and karts have not been left out as two 15 minutes sessions have been added to the itinerary.
They said, too, that drivers of competition cars or bikes should observe all normal safety regulations, circuit rules and protocol and road-going cars and bikes will be allowed, but drivers must wear racing suits and helmets and cars must have fully functional seatbelts.
However, no racing will be allowed and no pit garages will be available for use and a maximum of two people per entrant will be allowed in the pit area.
The spectators’ gate will be open from open 11 a.m. and there will be an admission fee. People or mechanics accompanying cars and drivers into the pit area must also pay an admission fee at Gate H prior to entry.
It is understood that a large cross-section of experienced and inexperienced drivers, including champion driver of the Barbados Association of Dragsters and Drifters, Jason Downey, in a Toyota RunX, is among the entries for the event, but the organisers are yet to make the entry list public.
