Opportunity knocks at arts festival

BARBADIAN ARTS AND CRAFTSPEOPLE will have another opportunity to generate income from their wares at the upcoming Barbados Summer Arts Festival slated for Hastings Rocks, Christ Church, on May 25, 26 and 27.

There will also be a prose and poetry session on May 18 at the same venue before the official opening.

The Summer Arts Festival was lauded by the organizers as a timely intervention for local entrepreneurs, given the economic recession.

“One of our key goals is to allow people to profit from passion. Having it here in the open air would allow people to make purchases,” said photographer Ronnie Carrington, who is also a producer/director of the company Arts In Motion, at a Press briefing Saturday at Hastings Rocks, Christ Church.
