Kid Site really has delusions of grandeur. There was absolutely nothing superior about his nursery rhyme offerings. I was actually very surprised when he was even named as the reserve. If he had planned to offer more of the same in coming years, then he really needs to take a break and do some self reflection.

Considering the fact he won in 1991, 2004, 2005 and 2006, that would make him a four-time calypso monarch wouldn’t it

kidsite was brillant on the night and he is right ,if he was with a big tent he will be in the finals right now.calypso in barbados is going to the dogs case in point look at how the people behave up bushy park. disrespectful shameful ...

The last 3 years Kidsite’s offerings have left much to be desired. From that “Last Final’s Night Bajans Had A Problem with Site”. Maybe you do need to take a break. It seems when some Calypsonians don’t get what they want they have a problem with the N.C.F, the Judges, e.t.c. What about the man in the mirror? You knew the system when you entered the competition don’t knock it when you fail. Had you gone through to the finals we would not hear a peep out of you.

I like Kid Site and have always been an advocate for his music, but the truth is that his formula has become stale and is no longer hitting. Granted, there is no way anyone can convince me that Tassa got more points than Kid Site in the Semis, but I can’t honestly say that Kid Site sang “great” songs, they were “Okay” At best.

Come on Kid Site!! You are behaving as if you have the God given right to be in the finals.I listened to your performance on Friday night. You were good but not great. You are a good artist and you have just lowered the high esteem in which you are held by deciding to withdraw as a reserve. This type of behaviour fuels the fire which allows patrons to behave the way they did at Bushy Park on Sunday, i.e not wanting to accept the “JUDGES’” decision.

All of these kaisonians that quit the arena and return when they feel like and expect to get an automatic place in the competition could stay out of the competition for the good of the festival in my opinion.

Dear KidSite, I think you should change your mind about leaving the competition. What you should do is take a break. I listen on the radio from overseas, with other bajans who had a lot of comments to make about your songs. The consensus was that it is time for you to let other people write your melodies and maybe your lyrics for a season or two, as your songs are sounding same’ee same’ee from year to year. I think that is the problem with the judges, not your performance. Good luck.
*By the way most of the arrangements for a large part of the 18 sound the same also.Did one arranger work on most of these songs this year?

The article has it look very superficial. The truth is my reasons for finishing with CropOver are much much deeper than reaching the finals. I no longer enjoy what I’m doing and this is since i defended the crown in 2005.
In respect of repeated melodies..may I point out to the experts that calypso is about people and once you record your song for air play there is hardly any outcry when the masses accept your song…but when you don’t the talk about fresh melodies always creep in.

Kidsite I too believe that you need to take a break. U have won enough cars to have a car rental company by now. Cut your losses and bow out!!!!!!

Wait ,has the Kid now regained his site or has he lost sight ?Oh please !When he was winning it was not a problem. Often time the song he sang the previous year and the current one for the year sounded so alike .Words made the difference .Too long they have been getting free money.While we the tax payers are made to pay for these prizes .Government has no money .This is the money generated from tax and services .Sponsors are not paying for all .The reign is over for the old guard .Yes a lot of the lyrics today leave much to be desired .However the attitudes of people like Site has created “entertainers ” of much party .Social commentary does not have to be bout political party bashing or such .No wonder the young gravitate to party .Less cut throat.

Kid Site, stop being defensive and LISTEN to the people. The one constant about GREAT artistes is that they know how to reinvent themselves. Your style has become PREDICTABLE and STALE. Your lyrics have become CHILDISH and UNINSPIRING. One does not have to be a musician to know what they like when they hear it. We, the consumers of music, are saying that your music of recent years REFLECTS your lack of interest. If you do feel like preparing a proper meal, fine, but don’t expect us to happily eat what you place in front of us.

Self praise in no praise .You have to be kidding me .What made you believe you were head and shoulders over the competition ? Many years you were a staple in the competition .You are not the cats meow .All this talk ,just get out if you feel this way and stay out .Forget about the fans told me to come back .Unfortunately they are others like you who have grouses with the system and still will not give up .The art form will not die when you leave .

when anyone enters a competition they believe they have what it takes to win. they are also aware that the judges might not see it that way and only one person can win. so why the hell every year people does enter competitions with judges and then get vex when they aint win. Gabby should not be in competition
Plastic Bag should not be in competition, John King should not be in competition. Such artistes should be touring recording and doing shows: they should not be waiting for NCF prize money.
KIDSITE should not be in competition either having won the crown four times. That is my opinion but all these artistes have the right to compete if they want to do so BUT we must bear the conquences in mind

It just isn’t your season, Kid Site, it’s somebody else’s turn. You have to learn not to be thin skinned and accept defeat with grace. There are lots of things many of us would like to see the NCF do differently, and it is your right to mention the things that you think can be changed or improved, but please, leave out the nonsensical and unsavoury comments. Surely you have benefited greatly from Crop Over, so there is no need to thrash everything and everybody. Breeze a bit,  then ‘reel and come again.’  Best wishes.

If he had common sense he would of gone ever since he does sing bare foolishness i have no clue how he could of ever be king in the first place, year after year he come with soooooo much crap never even try to change his style of singing plzzzzz i am so happy that he done maybe this is my xmas gift that come early.
