There is a green hill far away, Without a city wall, Where the dear Lord was crucified,Who died to save us all. – (Hymn 332 A.M.)
During this Holy Week, Christians throughout the world will be reflecting on the sufferings of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and his Glorious Resurrection.
We follow Him this week from the glory of the palms on Palm Sunday by way of the dark road of suffering and death to the glory of the Resurrection on Easter Day.
As we observe this time (season) let us remember that Jesus made it known to us in St John’s Gospel – that He came down from heaven not to do His own will but the will of Him (God) who sent Him. (John 6:38).
That is why Jesus emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of man, and found in human form, humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death of the cross. (Philippians 2:7 and 8).
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord who died for our sins, and was lifted high upon the cross, that He might draw the whole world to Himself and by his suffering and death He became the source of eternal salvationfor all who put their trust in Him.
There was no other good enough, To pay the price of sin, He only could unlock the gate, Of Heav’n and let us in. – (Hymn 332 verse 4).
As sons and daughters of Christ, let us all walk in the way of the cross and find it the way of life.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of my readers a blessed Easter.
