Home drums usually beat first and Sunday night at the Dover grounds, the drums were quite loud as Paradise defeated Tudor Bridge Bombers 4-0 to claim the 2014 Paradise Masters Dover Cup.
Earlier Wildey Masters grabbed third position with a 3-1 win over Combined Forces.
Wildey raced to a 3-0 lead, thanks to goals from Ryan Fields in the 14th minute, Anthony Forde in the 30th minute and Gregory “Lalu” Goodridge in the 37th minute.
Not only were Combined Forces down by three goals but they were also down to ten men when Azard Weekes was given marching orders by the referee. Troy Jordan managed to pull one back for the Forces in the 45th minute.
Paradise had a very supportive fan base and this paid off significantly as they were relentless in their actions towards Bombers.
Richard Wood broke the deadlock in the 24th minute after some fine work by Paul “Soup” Lovell, who broke through the Bombers defence but lost control of the ball and was dispossessed momentarily. However, it fell favourably for Wood who confidently pushed the ball beyond the goalkeeper’s right hand.
Within ten minutes Paradise doubled their lead. A free kick from the right, close to the corner area, was driven in by Kent Hall, and Lovell climbed above everyone to powerfully head the ball in to the net.
Paradise went into the break looking comfortable, while on the other hand Bombers were struggling to maintain possession or stop the free flowing attack of Paradise.
Substitute Otis Oliverre got on the score sheet in the 45th minute in fine style. Oliverre danced in off the left hand side, stepped by his marker and unleashed a powerful right-foot shot into the top left hand corner from just 25 yards out.
With Bombers offering no real resistance, Paradise drove the final nail in the coffin in the 56th minute. Stuart Hall, with loads of space on the right hand side, raced towards the Bombers penalty area and unselfishly picked out the unmarked Layne to convert from six yards out.
