As delisting of another company from the Barbados Stock Exchange (BSE) looms, urgent proposals have been submitted to the Ministry of Finance to help revive the struggling stock market.
The development came as Barbados Dairy Industries Limited, which trades as Pine Hill Dairy, announced plans to cease trading of its shares on the stock market from May 30.
This follows an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders two years ago when directors of the Banks Holdings Limited (BHL) subsidiary contended that  continued listing on the BSE was too costly and hardly any buying or selling of its shares was taking place.
BHL controls about 84 per cent of the shares in Pine Hill Dairy, while the rest are held by about 300 individual shareholders.
