PM: Thanks for good wishes
Sat, June 05, 2010 - 12:00 AM
PRIME MINISTER DAVID THOMPSON yesterday expressed thanks to Barbadians for their prayers and good wishes.
Speaking briefly on his health situation in the House of Assembly, he said "the battle is not over" and expressed gratitude for the outpouring of goodwill from both sides of the House.
Speaker Michael Carrington said members were happy to see him in the Chamber and added that the goodwill toward him was indicative of how much Barbadians loved their leaders.
Opposition Leader Mia Mottley said it was good to see Thompson "with us today".
"He remains in our prayers. He has indicated that the battle is not over, believe you me with all sincerity, he remains in our prayers and we wish him, his family, all the best at this time," Mottley said. (WG)
