KINGSTON, Jamaica – A policeman is now in custody for the shooting death of his brother-in-law during a domestic dispute in Westmoreland late yesterday.

Dead is Christopher Thompson, otherwise known as ‘Indian’ or ‘Badoo’, of a Darliston address in the parish.

Details surrounding the shooting are sketchy at this time but the police have confirmed that Thompson was shot once in the abdomen.

Unconfirmed reports are that the policeman had reportedly hit Thompson’s daughter, and the two men ended up in a heated confrontation sometime after 6:00 pm.

Thompson, a farmer, was then shot by the cop, whose name has not been released.

Detectives from the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) are probing the incident. (Jamaica Observer)
