POSTMAN?ONDREA GRIFFIN had to surrender his passport as part of the bail conditions imposed on him when he appeared in court today on drug related offences.
The 39 year-old man of Waverly Cot, St George, pleaded not guilty to possession of five pounds of marijuana on January 28, valued $20 000, having the drugs with intent to supply and trafficking in the drugs when he appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick.
Prosecutor Station Sergeant Ensley Grainger did not object to bail for the accused but asked the court to attach certain conditions to the bail.
Magistrate Frederick ordered Griffin’s mother Maria Small who signed his bail of $12 000 to produce his passport before the end of the day’s sitting while he ordered Griffin to report to the District “B” Police Station once a week.
The case was adjourned until July 29.
Police reports indicate that the five pounds of compressed marijuana was discovered at the General Post Office after being mailed to Barbados. (MB)
